We finish our brief tour of Organic Spain with a podcast first, an island producer from Mallorca, Bà rbara Mesquida Mora, Mesquida Mora, growing on 20 hectares across 8 plots. Our first stop with Bà rbara is in one of their vineyards, which was chosen to illustrate the past and present of the project. She tells us about her multi-generational connection with the land, how the project started and its philosophy. We get an insight into local grape varieties Callet, Manto Negro, Prensal and how they perform in the local terroir and also the interplay with older French varieties. We get an overview of the winery’s three ranges of wine Sincronia, Acrollam and two premium reds, Trispol and Sotil. Our second stop takes us to a vineyard showing the future of the winery to the site of a Prensal vineyard. Looking closely at the plant and an overview of the harvest dates. Before we head back to the winery for a tasting and explanation of three wines, the Acrollam Blanc, the Acrollam rosé and the 2017 Trispol. Bà rbara then looks ahead to travel plans, which were still valid last year. These will give you a sense of where these wines are being enjoyed around the world.
