Continuing the journey around Slovenia. Today’s episode begins Day 2 of the tour. Following a night at the Mond Hotel. The only wine hotel in Slovenia, which has room’s sponsored by individual winemakers, which is located within Slovenia’s Styria region. We started with a visit to Vino Gaube, a short drive from the hotel. This family winery operates on a very human scale and is known for the approachable nature of its wines. That being said, the varied terroir, age of vines, changing weather conditions and openness to experiment has seen a broadening of production and now includes aged whites and pinot noir.
